Photographer Markus Hippmann dedicates his photo series “Happy through Dance” the body cult photography from the 30s, through a group of young and self-confident dancers with down-syndrome, who dance regularly in the Viennese Club “I am O.K.” and express their joy for life through dance. Hippmann portrays the dancers in the heroic photography style of Leni Riefenstahl, and with that shows that people with Down-Syndrome are as heroic and special as everybody else. He admires them through his camera and looks up at them and their joy and expressionism.
